yes, I think the plants scenario is a bit backward--plants CREATE oxygen. I suggest
a pyramid!!! and maybe a fountain indoors--and meditation.
Sounds like the mind is attuned to panic! I live in Canada too--and am loving my sunflowers and morning glories I planted purposefully late (July)
so I can bring them indoors--last year they bloomed to January..
