great water distiller

I finally decided on the water distiller I want - this one is great in my opinion because you don't need electricity to use it, it is made of stainless steel and it has a 3 year warranty. It makes me happy to think that if the electricity went out we could still distill water as long as we could find a way to have a fire. Being a locovore and someone who really wants to be able to still keep going with or without the present oil based infrastructure, I think this is the way to go. My next step is to get healthy enough to be able to go on herb walks with a local herbalist so I can learn where all the edibles are around here and how to I.D. them. I am already eating food out of the garden - only a small portion so far but we intend to expand it and we are looking to move further north where it is much less populated and we could get land for a lot less than down here. And since I have given up eating all processed foods other than dehydrated raw foods, I am finding that my grocery bill has gone down about half - esp. when we shop at farmers markets where organic produce is about half as much as in the markets. I won't be purchasing vitamins anymore either which suits me fine since I hate them anyway. Big savings.... I'll spend it on barefoot herbs.

Now I know what people mean when they say their illness is the best thing that ever happened to them because it got them well in the long run. It has certainly turned my consciousness around - It isn't that I didn't know about all this and didn't try to eat healthier etc. - but LOL - I wasn't doing so great at it. Kind of half way and we always find ways of rationalizing our behavior don't we?

I am really grateful to all the people who come to these forums whether I agree with them on everything or not - during this illness I am going through I have felt supported and encouraged just knowing you are all here and I have somewhere to go with my questions.
