If it is a back tooth, have it pulled and make sure he knows how to do the cavitation. he should have a certificate in NICO. Most people just leave the tooth gone, it won't hurt anything.
Another option is a partial, but unless there are teeth missing on the other side, it doesn't balance well. But, if you have 4 root canals, I recommend getting them all out and then maybe a partial would work for you, depending on where the root canaled teeth are.
And another option is to do a bridge, but you have to crown the two teeth in front of the missing one and put a 3 unit bridge in, giving you a fake tooth at the end. These are not as strong as bridges where there is a tooth onthe other side, but they can work for most people. Most do not opt for that, though. People are more likely to do that if they are missing two teeth next to each other on the end.
Price varies greatly among Biologic Dentists. Here in Mexico, it is around $100 or so to pull the root canaled tooth and clean the cavitation, and that is with Huggins' Certified Dentists. In the states it could be hundreds to thousands, there is that much of a variance.
