Macrobiotics is a diet that tries to balance the body. They believe that if you consume too much yin foods-sugar, fruit, oils that it weakens the body. I found that to be true in my case. I went on an all fruit diet also, and was weepy, tired, anxious. I felt totally out of balance. They believe that the foundation of our meals should be whole grains, such as oatmeal, brown rice, millet, whole grain bread, beans, legumes vegetables and a little fruit. I also learned that in the Bible to take a meal actually meant to break bread. As Jesus Christ on the Passover ate the bread and drank the wine for the Last Super. We even see Ezekiel Bread in the stores. There is actually a bread Ezekiel was supposed to eat for a period of time made of whole grains and legumes. So I believe your system is out of balance, and the posts encouraging you to eat salt and meat are a way to balance the extreme yin expansive fruit foods with extreme yang meat salt foods. Macrobiotics encourages people to try and eat more in the middle as I explained above for total body balance. You may want to give it a go at least to get back into balance.
