ENTERTAINMENT jokes are not kept secret, DECEPTION jokes (pranks/schemes) are.
These "video files" that were also "pictures" that weren't single files because they "moved" and "gave the illusion" that they were installing software had no introductory paragraph that even attempted to explain their identity and purpose (let alone a URL to offer info on their safety or an option not to have them load.
As long as EXCUSES are being given instead of legitimate explanations, I would have expected there would be a more technical one of the posts intended purpose (beyond this point, I'll consider this a non-issue, it's not my forum). Normally, I would think the
Webmaster and Moderator5A5 would have an interest in safeguarding this forum against software installation and "jokes" becoming a habit and therefore would not want to set a precedent leaving the wrong impression, but I guess "illusionary software" and jokes are not contrary to the posting guidelines (but, YOU do need a "text" and verses/quotes in order for you to do what is right, don't you?).
After I wrote my first posts about the secret joke illusionary software that had not been clearly identified with a URL, I realized that "neither" the Moderator "nor" Corinthian or WB would remove the posts or stop without encouragement from the
Webmaster (apparently I was wrong there also, and visitors will just have to get used to it). If WB had been less obvious about his objection that I contacted the Webmaster, then I wouldn't have been specifically aware that he acknowledged the "joke" posting was wrong, and the whole situation just could have been thought of as an error in judgement. When I realized there was so much enthusiasm about offering me excuses (who am I that you should feel obligated?), I felt that at least the
Webmaster won't insult my intelligence, but I was wrong there too (you just had to convince him to give a story about "joke illusionary software", you should show him more respect and not ask him to make excuse for your sarcasm, not very nice of you).
If you must make excuses for the wrong that you do, at least be more creative.
Well, let's consider this "soap opera episode" over, it serves no good purpose.
