Re: alkiline fruits question

Thank you

Unfortunately fruit doesn't grow around here all year long, but chard, cabbages, lettuces, potatoes, broccoli and some other vegetables do. We can grow some peppers in the winter too and I'm not yet sure if they are a vegetable or a fruit. I think I remember you saying that things with seeds in them are fruits.... We can get oranges, pears, avocados, tomatoes and apples in the market during the winter, but they are imported from far away. sometimes Mexico, Central America or Chile even - takes a lot of oil to get them here. We can dehydrate some but certainly not enough to get us through the winter and I would prefer to try and eat as much locally grown food as possible. I don't have any grasses in my tiny little yard. I am intending to take a class in order to educate myself about the local edible plants and I am looking forward to that.

I'm sure you are correct in your assessment and I ask the question because I want to learn and I can see that you are quite an expert, but we don't live in an eden where we have access to unlimited fruits. I'm studying now and trying to sort it all out - also I need to listen to other viewpoints as well and eventually come to my own conclusions. It's only been 3 weeks since I began this particular journey.
