But before that, I found my black rings underneath my eyes ALWAYS coincide with high blood metal levels.

It appears that Iodine liberates the metals from tissue and keeps it suspended in blood until able to remove it. This causes these black eye issues by irritating the kidneys.
I have played with this several times now, and a large dose of selenium with TMG (a methionine precursor) followed by TLC (Lead chelator) solves this symptom.

This leaves the question; do you have black under your eyes because you didn't sleep well or you didn't sleep well because heavy metals irritated you...

NOTE: One of the documented benefits of selenium is better sleep...
