Re: Working in the Hot Sun

Well Maybe I'm healthier than I thought because I don't burn easily - I always thought it was because of my Italian blood. I never use any sunscreen cause I don't know what's in it and i think it could be harmful and I sometimes wonder if people are getting skin cancer sometimes from whatever chemicals are in sunscreens. I always felt the best sunscreen was a gradual tan. I lived for many years in Southern CA by the beach and also in Hawaii and have spent a lot of time in the sun - so far - no skin cancer... I'm 62 now. I have gotten a burn from time to time when I forgot to come out of the sun soon enough though and I haven't given my skin enough time to get nice and brown. My Sweetie is Swedish and Norwegian and he burns fairly easily - I am Italian and Swedish on one side and Irish on the other but my skin is fairly olive in tone - not dark but an olive cast rather than a pink.

....interesting
