Re: chemo related neuropathy

HI there coacher...read your mail with great interest...so sorry to hear what you are going through...you are not alone...my husband has cancer of the bladder and it spread to the left pelvic bone and lymp nodes on the left of the bladder and he was given 2 year to live just shortly after the diagnosis Aug 2006....what a whirlwind it threw our family into....then my husband had 6 sessions of cysplatin and gimcetabine all to no avail...well the lymp nodes returned to near normal...but tumour never reduced...then he had the full amount of radiation treatment and it neither seemed to reduce size or the pain....so that was March 2007 and he has since had Taxol to try to reduce it for pain relief...but that didnt work either...He has alot of pain and is on alot of pain meds Oxycontin 300 x twice a day and 900 neurontin twice a day,75 mg difene twice a day and 600 neurontin middle of the day...they actually stopped the 600 neurontin in middle od day in past week as he is "talking foolish " etc ...but they suggested putting the 600 back in...we also went to the Oasis of Hope in Tiquana Mexico , for alternative trreatment...as they cant do anything but try to manage pain here in Ireland...in March and also July for treatment in Dr Contrerras Clinic/Hospital...and he is on B-17 treatment from there...they want him to have Taxotere and Andriomycine chemo now but our doctors here in ireland dont agree...

Regards
