I came over here to this site because my husband has been on interferon treatment for almost 6 months. He has only 4 more weeks of treatment left and I am hanging on with all my might hoping he makes it. He has a rare genome and has been told that with his genome the chances for total elimination of the virus is 80% and has gone up to over 90% because his viral count went to zero within the fist 4 weeks or something like that - Anyway it was at zero the very first time they tested him. He does not have cirrhosis and his liver levels are perfect. Because of the genome he has he doesn't have to be on it for as long as a lot of the other people do and he doesn't have to take as heavy a dose of the riboviron that is part of the protocol as the others either. I would never have advised him to do this because he was feeling very good and it is only recently that his viral load went up. He has had the disease for 30 years and for a long time it was thought that the disease might never actually materialize. Anyway I am into natural and alternative methods and he is locked into medical science. He is really smart and reads a lot of books on Science etc. but we have differing views and after reading this forum I feel kind of scared that his immune system will be so badly affected by these drugs. I would never tell him these things because I know that part of healing is psychological and I don't want to infect his positive attitude with any negativity - he's chosen this path and I support him totally.
