Re: Intensely frustrated newb, please help.
Hi. First of all, let me say that I think it's fabulous that you've done so much for your health already. Even with those few xtra pounds, I'm sure you're reaping many health benefits.
Fasting may seem extreme & difficult for some, but might I recommend you do some more reading about liver flushing? Although it is a new concept for many, liver & bowel flushing are both essential to health and by many accounts can help with weight issues as well. Here is an awesome explanation of how
Liver Flushing works and why it is so important:

I wouldn't call
Liver Flushing harsh - I would call it vital! But yeah, some concepts here take a bit of getting used to...
Bowel cleansing is supposed to clean out old junk that is keeping you from absorbing the nutrients in your food optimally. The same food, absorbed better, should provide better results. I'm not personally a fan of invasive techniques (enimas, colonics) but I rather like
Oxypowder which is gentle and you don't have to drink gross stuff constantly. These two things together, especially the clean liver, should be the foundation to allowing all the other organ to operate better, so I think they are a good start. Good luck and good job on all the work you've done so far!
Take care,
