On the carton of the Epsom Salt that I have been using says Magnesium Sulfate, U.S.P. The directions clearly state that it can be used externally for baths and internally as a laxative. If your carton says 'for external use' only, take their word for it just to be on the safe side. Buy the right one and take a good hot bath with the one you have. Kriek
