Animals and parasites. Also info on the The "horny"-maker parasite

I am watching Oprah Winfrey show and they talk about a new show on discovery channel called "Planet Earth". The film crew had filmed ants. Apparently there is a spore from fungi that attaches itself on ants. The fungi spore is carried by air, attaches itself to the ant and drills into it's "bones", from there it travels to the ants brain and controls it. The ant becomes crazy and sick. The other ants quickly grab the ant and carry it far away from the rest of the colony, they leave it somewhere to die. The camera man said that ants do this since the infested ant can infect other ants and destroy and entire colony of ants.

They contiuned to film the sick ant after it had died. It was sitting on a leaf. As the days passed a white stick started to grow out of its head, longer and longer like a white worm. The parasite hatched itself and obviously completed some part of its life cycle. When the "stick" is fullgrown it will release spores to the air.

Then I found the article about the parasite that makes women horny. There are statemtns from a parasitologist, he speaks generally about the parasite, whereas a study done in australia claims the hornyness in woman. Im gonna translate it:

(Headline)
"This is the parasite that give women increased sexual desire (?) - and makes men stupi according to a new research report. About 900 000 swedes carry this parasite.
- Most of the people dont know that they have it, says Johan Lindh, parasitologist at the center of disease control."

"Toxoplasma gondii
The parasite could be present in every wamr-blooded mammal. The active parasite is half-moon (?) shaped and is about 1/8000 millimeter long.
Toxoplasma gondii
For healthy people the parasite is harmless (!), but pregnant women should avoid to become infected since the foetus kan be harmed (!).
För friska personer utgör parasiten ingen fara, men gravida kvinnor bör undvika att bli smittade eftersom fostret kan skadas.
The parasite can also create brain damage to people who have a very suppressed immune system (!).
The parasite is present all over the world and about 1,5 to 2 billion of people are infested.

This is how we get infested:
Humans can be infested by eating meat that havent been properly cooked. Sandpits/playgrounds and flower beds are common sources where poeple get the parasite
Människor kan smittas genom att äta kött som inte är ordentligt genomstekt.
A simple blood test will show if you are infected (!).

In some cases it is possible to take medicatons to get rid of the infestation, but the treatment has to be started before the parasite enters the cells of the body.
Wash your hands carefully and only eat properly cooked meat, then you will avoid to become infested."

Source: Johan Lindh, parasitologist,
The center of disease control

"When a human has been infected by the one celled parasite toxoplasma gonii it will only take a day or two before the parasite enters the cells of the body. In there it can live for many years. - You can carry it your whole life and not know about it, says Johan Lindh, parasitologist at the center of disease control.

New research by Nicky Boulter by Sydney University of Technology in Australia showed that the parasite can change the behaviour in infected people. Women who carry the parasite are, according to the research, more outgoing, they become frendlier och get a stronger desire for sex and attract men better then non-infested women (!!!!! Axpr this could prove your theory (earlier post) that parasites do this to spread themselves to others)

If men on the other hand are infested, a totally different thing will happen. Men get a lower IQ. According to the study, men have a harder time to stay focused, they are more suspicious and have lower IQ then men who are not infested.
Previous research have shown to change the behaviour in mice.

Despite this Johan Lindh is sceptical about the new fidings. - I havent seen the study, but I think is putting things a little far."

(The exclamation mark are my on marks, something to think about.)

Well, this was certainly interesting. I think that Johan Lindh should be more OPENMINDED when it comes to parasites and their abilities to control and destroy. Parasites are underestimated, and people who work with them on a daily basis seems to know way too little on the subject?
The article could even present how many number of people that have this parasite, and that is a lot of people, and only one kind of parasite! Why cant they be open about the rest of the parasites too? They should inform, highlight this and teach us. Poeple eat raw and rare meat, dont wash hands, lick dirty fingers, get licked in faces by animals, people are soaked in medications and antibiotics that mess with our microbes, but no one tell us how harmful small actions like these are and what to do prevent further complications!!

When animals are heavily infested with parasites they become wacky, very sick and they isolate themselves from the pack or are thrown out from the gang.

Also, it is not the first time I hear about mind control in animals from different animal/nature shows.

I saw an animal show where snails got infested with something in the tropics. The parasite would grow out of its head and it had very vibrant and beautiful colors (I cant believe I say this), it looked like a colorful hard-candy bar sticking out from the head, and it was pulsing and contracting. The snails that had these parasites tried to get as high up as they could on leaves and branches to expose themselves. The parasite was driving them to be visible to birds, and the vibrant colors in the parasite (that was easily seen since the skin of the snail is transluscent when strected out) were suppose to attract BIRDS! The birds eat the snail since it looks jummy, becomes infested and poops out parasite eggs. Something or someone will ingest the eggs, and they cycle goes on.

We are so aware of what happens in the Macro world, but nothing about the Micro. It is in the micro world where things happen! Like in the body, it is run by thousands of (micro) actions not seen to the naked eye: chemical reactions, chain reactions, tiny tiny microbes who digest what we ingest, antibodies that will kill invadors and keep us healthy, we can't see it but it is there. While we are sleeping or watching a movie there could be a raging war going on between good and bad guys at that very moment, or the body could be constanly fighting something and we just feel the side effects of it, the chronic health issues.

This is where parasite come in to the picture, they area a BIG deal in this micro world of ours.
