Re: from an e-mail I got this AM...ESTROGEN
my source wishes to remain anonymous, but here are some of her musings...
"Wish I knew....it's the BIG ? ...what the heck does
Iodine do to estrogen. We know it does something really major to all cells estrogen acts on... Hoping we can make more sense of this but not even the
Iodine docs really have a handle onit. Flechas just tells me stuff off the top of his head that tells me he doesn't have a clue what it's doing with estrogen.... My period (age 53) is still coming every 1-2 months now. I had a major weird one awhile back with a nasty odor and clotty stuff that keep up every couple of days for almost a month.....wanted me to get a D and C as we thought may fibroid tissue was breaking down and then not getting cleared out. Women report having to use more HRT cream on
Iodine to deal with brain fog stuff. But their hot flashes and sleep problems decline. Flechas says it blocks the estrogen receptors but makes all hormone receptors more sensitive so it evens out... I think it does something to the estrogen receptors....possible building new ones as cells get replaced or rebuilt. I would venture to guess it did shut down or limit yoru estrogen and it took longer to build a lining. Then finally your levels dropped low enough to signal a release. The fact that's it's a nice heavy flow and red is good...things are cleaning out nicely. If you had some HRT cream right now to pull up your estrogen a bit you probably would feel far better and crappy mood stuff would go. Betting though your own natural estrogen levels are climbing up now and in a day or so you'll be back on track..probably by tonight actually. Estrogen climbs fast after the intial drop to start a period. hope this helps and really hope we can get the bottom of the iodine estrogen mystery."
