The body does not "resist". It does, however, address cleansing and detox issues in a certain order. You may not be burning fat, for example, but maybe your kidneys are receiving priority at this time.
During a very long fast (60 days) I would go for a week at a time and not lose any weight. Fast through and weight loss picks up again in the body's good time.
There is NO quicker way to yo-yo weight than multiple fasting without proper follow up. You are in starvation mode, then go into binge mode. You do the math.
Enjoy your cleanse, and the weight you lose. However, do not count on fasting to be a permanent fix -- you need to spend the time you are fasting to plan your post-cleanse sensible diet and exercise program -- then STICK to it! The only permanent weight loss plan is burning more calories than you consume.
