I have to keep a pretty strict diet of protein and vegetables. I can eat some fruit, mangoes and papayas, but not much. If I have ANYTHING sweet, it is like an alcoholic taking his first drink. I just want more. Why this addiction, I don't know, but I cannot even have the Sugar free candies and stop at just one. It's like a trigger.
Now it only takes me a couple of days to lose the cravings, but when I first started low carb, it took a week to ten days to lose the cravings. I am grateful it is that short.
One of the worst triggers for me is the Cuban boniato, which is like a sweet baked potato; I had read that it has antiogenesis properties and I said, oh good, I'll try it. It was not a good idea; it is sweeter than a sweet potato and set off cravings for me.
