The best watermelom I ever tasted was a yellow melon bought off a side-of-the-road stand in East Texas. It looked weird, but tasted like a slice of Heaven.

Arkansas has some pretty good melons too. Hope, Arkansas-home of Bill Clinmton and Republican presidental candidate Mike Huckabee-is sometimes called the Watermelon capital.

I'll take Watermelon almost anytime, any way. I think I'll buy one today and have a feast. Fresh sweet corn, Arkansas 'maters, and local watermelons are the very best part of summer. Tweet
