If you're wondering about creams to give relief, I find coconut oil pretty good. But if the skin is super-thirsty, then I find it's not quite enough, so then I use Epaderm (no steroids, just thick gunk, a bit like vaseline). I prefer the chemical-free coconut oil, so I only use Epaderm when necessary. Since the raw foods etc, I find that my skin's moisture-level is improving, so I can use coconut oil more and Epaderm less. So long-term, I think the key is to get the inside of your body healthy through diet (also Omega 3 - 6 - 9 oil supplement and vitamins if you want a back-up, but they're not a food substitute!) but in the short-term, keep the skin moist through creams, but aim to wean yourself off in the long-term. If you need to apply an emollient twenty times daily at first, and get all your clothes horribly gunky all the time, then that's what you have to do! Better than it getting even more cracked/scalier/uncomfortable/weeping, and getting infected. But do the long-term stuff too.
Hope this might help x.
