Lugol's & mullein in distilled water

Hello All:

I did something unusual today. I normally take Lugol's 15 drops in a glass of water. Today I put 15 drops in distilled water and then I put 5 drops of Mullein tincture in it. Normally my water becomes dark with Lugol's (like Apple Juice color) But as soon as I put Mullein in the mixture it turned clear and there was no taste of Iodine at all. Is this a chemical reaction and is it bad for our body?
