Adrenal cortex/glandulars made a huge difference for me when I started recovering from AF, and I still use them. They've helped me a lot over the years. They are excellent for severe cases of AF (such as mine). Milder cases can be treated with herbs, vitamins, etc. If your herbal prescription does contain licorice root, that may be contributing to your insomnia.
Are you taking any supplements for your suspected copper overload condition? I've posted about my experiences with that in the last couple of weeks. You might want to read "The Mood Cure" by Julia Ross. Her book contains a lot of surprising, very useful information about how nutrition affects adrenal fatigue, depression and related conditions. She recommends supplements that one can substitute for antidepressant medication.
