The problem with Antibiotics is that in killing off bacteria, they kill off all bacteria, including the good bacteria that competes for space with yeast and works to push it out. For this reason, use of Antibiotics is a major contributor to fungal and yeast overgrowth in our bodies. Moreover, the Mayo Clinic recently conducted a study on sinusitis and found that 96 percent of all sinus problems have a fungal basis. For this reason, the Mayo clinic is looking into treating sinus problems with antifungals instead of Antibiotics . This is not to mean that antibiotics are never needed to deal with sinus issues, but it is something to consider since using them may encourage fungal growth, including in our sinuses.
