Re: mirena removal

I had mine out 3 weeks ago. Nothing compared to when I got it put in! The pain is moderate, but quick. Afterwards I had cramping, then started to bleed heavily for 3-4 days. Had heavy flow with large (golf-ball sized) clots. I felt like crap for 2 days. Doc said to keep an eye on the bleeding, but to not be too worried. I am gradually starting to feel better. Have been experiencing some strange discharge the past week...thick, pinkish-clear mucus-like stuff. Comes out after slight cramping.
Figure it will take my body a while to get back to normal. I had it for 13 months and did not bleed AT ALL for 10 of those months.
