Re: what is the best form of birth control??

i would suggest trying something nonhormonal. and expecially not the mirena iud. i only had mine for three months, with severe headaches everyday. i got it 8wks after the birth of our second child. and now i wish i hadnt. it caused me to be extrmely tired all the time, i didnt have the energy to watch my kids. i had menstrueal changes as well, the whole time i had it i only had two "periods", both of which lasted 12 days each. granted i only had slight cramping and bleeding, but it was over twice as long as a normal period. i also had severe mood swings or rages as my dr called them. my kids didnt need that. it was the day i took one of those mood swings (thankfully it wasnt a really bad one) out on our 1 1/5 year old that i decided the mirena had to go. luckily it came out on its own 12 days after my last period started. i was so happy. the very next day i felt incredible. i had so much energy i felt like i could do anything. the problem is, since the very first day of my last period on february 10, i have had a nearly constant pain in my left pelvic area. when i finally got to see my dr (not dr's office fault) nearly a month later, he thought i was hurting to begin with because i had ovulated and that i was pregnant. he wanted to wait until the end of march to give me anything to force a period before he did a hcg test and possibly give me something to force a period. when i went back at the end of the month, the levels were on the debatable side. so four days later i went and had to have another test. i was pregnant, but it was wayy early. and i was still hurting. i miscarried may 2. i believe that the mirena had everything to do with my baby not growing. my dr said that my pain should cease within two weeks. when i saw him two weeks later for post op appointment, it wasnt gone. he wanted me on bc for three months, hoping that it would help encourage the pain to go away, bc if it was bc of a cyst (which ive had for over four years with never any pain except in late pregnancy) then the bc should help regualate my cycle to get it to go away. and that if it didnt go away in three months to come back and see him and i would have to have a laporoscopy to see what was wrong, which could possibly lead to a hysterictomy. which is why he wanted me on the bc. im only 25, and i dont want to have to take a pill for the rest of my life, not yet. i know i will eventually, my mom had one at 35. i know all of these problems are caused by the mirena. even though i cant find anything to substantiate my beliefs. please find another form of birth control.
