My 83 yr old mother had a stroke 6 months ago. Some symptoms were stuttering, having to stop mid sentence because she couldn't pronounce or say the word she was thinking about, very poor short term memory e.g. forgetting what she had for supper the same evening, and increased deafness. I read about quite a few brain nutrition, protecting and cleaning formulations and decided to buy [can't name it but AOR in Canada makes it], and, it contains food & herbal ingredients including: natural (R) alpha lipoic acid, Huperzine-A, Vinpocetine, Ginkgo biloba extract, cytidine diphosphate choline. Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCl, L-Pyroglutamic Acid, and Pantothenic acid.

Her condition improved greatly. Vinpocetine is the blood thinner used in the EU to treat ischemic sp? events inc. strokes. In North America MD's prescribe aspirin and a drug (also used as a rodenticide). There are other similar formulas that might help too. This forum is where I first heard of the one my mother used:
