Re: O/T Finally found out about my knee
give your body what it needs, exercise it gently to keep the surrounding muscles strong. Stay the course on your healthy habits and most of all be patient. I have had 4 arthroscopic surgeries... two on each knee (just 4 of a dozen). Only 1 of the four surgeries would I do again... Why? Because my left knee was physically LOCKED in a squat position as the tear had jambed between the joint while I was running and I fell into a century plant getting skewered in several places. Without the surgery, I would most likely still be in that position.
Six years ago they told me I needed bi-lateral knee replacements; everything was bone on bone... I never did it. Could barely walk two years ago.
today my right knee feels as good as it has since before its first surgery.
My left feels better than it did before my first surgery HOWEVER, it still will kink on me 2 - 3 times a day.
I am doing stairs, ellipticals, mini tramps and kata among other things... not running again... yet. I am hoping sometime in the fall.
You can get there.
By the way, the Castor oil packs are an excellent idea. Mix the oil with a little Willard's water if you wish and it will penetrate and heal even better. I used to wrap both my knees in Castor oil packs and then overwrap them so they would not leak and sleep with them that way.
