Re: Humaworm and Acne?
Pond's Cold Cream must have been around for nearly a hundred years now.
Ladies used it to clean off their makeup, clean their faces.
We found a 1929 newspaper in the back of the frame of an old picture. It was dated about one month before the market crash. There was a full-page color ad for Pond's, showing one of the young, redheaded, Rockerfeller ladies in a gorgeous filmy apricot dress. There was also a small picture of their touring car, telling that it had crossed the country 28 times, to their other home.
Other pages had stories of the 'new' practice of 'sun-bathing' (with a nurse in attendance), and the release of Edgar Rice Burrough's newest Tarzan book. There was a full color Betty Boop cartoon, and a full-page account of the scandalous divorce of some socialites where the woman was trying to get lots of money (shame on her) from her wealthy soon-to-be-ex-husband...complete with a photo of 'other woman'.
(We donated the newspaper to the library of the local college. We thought the psychology students would be interested. The librarian was thinking of the journalism students.)
Any pharmacy worth its salt should know about Pond's Cold Cream.
