Preoccupied with weight

Is it unhealthy for me to be in a relationship with a man who is very concerned with how much people weigh? It isn't a problem now since I'm thin, but I wouldn't want to know what would happen if I gained a few pounds. He is always making comments about peoples' weight and his idea of "ideal" is pretty thin. From his comments, it almost seems like being thin is what makes a woman attractive. I realize that everybody has their own weight preference for a spouse, but expecting your spouse (and the whole world!) to be very thin is unrealistic.

Does anybody know why he is like this? What if I have a child and gain weight from it? I don't think he would be able to find me attractive after that! This seems very shallow of him, what do all of you think? Hopefully I'm not overreacting...
