Re: Spring allergy attack! -- OP has helped me
Hi San,
I recommend adding oil pulling to your regimen. I got allergies when I lived in Austin a few years ago, although they were not that bad -- I could control them pretty much with dietary changes (no wheat/dairy) and a whole lot of spicy food.
Then when I moved back to Virginia they seemed to get a lot worse. I was reluctant to go on an anti-allergy med but was definitely down and out and suffering. When I started oil pulling in early October, there was a real change. For the first time in a few years I was not buying any OTC allergy/sinus meds and had a near-complete abatement of congestion. (I still have an ice-cream problem, which can cause misery when there is a lot of pollen, but I have been adding cayenne to my ice cream, which may sound on the surface like drinking a Diet Coke with a Big Mac, but which is surpisingly effective!)
Then I added
Iodine in February or so. I think that has helped if only because I went out of town a couple of months ago and really had terrible allergies -- I think because I did not bring my
Iodine and was not OP regularly. Since then, despite others around where I live complaining of allergies, I have not had any, so I assume that since I am back on
Iodine and oil pulling pretty regularly, that's the cause.
Plus there are myriad other benefits -- I am sure people feel this way about any therapy they love, but I can't see why everyone doesn't do it, and I hope to keep doing it for a long time!
Hope you find some relief -- I have read with interest the acid/alkaline stuff. That seems to be next on the horizon for me. I am interested in this Earth Clinic Ted person because I have not been able to get past the personality/ego problem at the local a/a forum.
