Iodine induces regeneration of skin...will it work on an indentation? I don't know. I removed a mole with Lugol's and it left no scar whatsoever, just fresh, healthy skin. Didn't hurt either.
It wouldn't hurt to try! And it will NOT hurt healthy skin. I have no experience with blood root, but it sounds as though it removed healthy skin as well...
