I just had mine removed yesterday, and I hadn't had a period in about 3 years! It was fine. That is very frustrating that the receptionist gave you a hard time. Persevere. I would either call back and explain that it's your body, you don't expect to have another period, and you want it out. Or just call and ask to speak to a nurse. Or tell the receptionist that you want to see the doctor to discuss the Mirena. If that doesn't work, then you may have to go to another doctor's office (and tell them that too). I can't believe they can be so pushy. Thankfully, I didn't have that problem, but I'm sorry that you have. Tweet
