Re: A question I was asked today....
Funny you should ask that. I was reflecting earlier on all the things I am doing to change my diet, to change my lifestyle, to change my health, all for the (I hope) better.
I was thinking that there were certain things I missed and don't really want to give up (chocolate, wine, beer, ice cream, etc.). I reflected on how I never wanted to be like all those "odd" people who took health to extremes, the natural foods, the raw foods, purifying water, making their own bread, fasting, yoga, wearing natural materials, oil pulling, liver flushes, taking iodine, taking kelp, drinking ACV, wearing my silver hair in a pony tail, etc. (I hope you all see the humor here...).
Then I reflected on all the things I am doing. How no one step changes much, but that with each change I am making I am moving closer to being like what I never wanted to be like.
The reason I say these things is I think you should lead your friend gently. Introduce him/her to iodine. Let her/him experience the positive changes. It won't take long for your friend to start to take other actions to increase the good things happening in their life. That would be when you make the reference to soft drinks and their negative effects, if they haven't thought of it already (one or two bromine headaches could cure that addiction). Mentioning it now, before they've taken the first step to health makes taking that first step threatening to what they like and enjoy.
My 2 cents,
