I had exactly as you describe.

I know i did read it somewhere about the runny nose and sufficiency and im trying to find the source but i cant.

I did find this though which is probably more accurate.

"Iodine removes the toxic halogens fluoride and bromide from the body. Iodism, an unpleasant brassy taste, runny nose, and acne-like skin lesions, is caused by the bromide that Iodine extracts from the tissues. Symptoms subside on a lesser dose of iodine."
