I too, just had mine out this month. I have not had a period for over 2 years. My doctor's office wanted to schedule me while on my period but had no choice when I told them I did not have periods anymore. There was no difficulty or pain involved in it being removed. It is your body. If your current doctor won't remove it, go to someone else. I have felt much better since it has been removed.
