Re: Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have experienced chronic back and rib cage pain off on for the last 7 years. I have done alot of reading on the subject and have come across the lyme disease connection repeatedly. Two years ago I purchases a sauna and used it extensively for about 6 months and now use it several times a week. When I started on
Iodine almost 10 weeks ago now I kept expecting to experience detox. symptoms especially because of my past problems but much to my surprise I haven't had any. I believe this is because of the previous detoxing I have done. Most of my chronic pain has subsided over the last 18 months but I had one persistant problem that would not subsided no matter the detox method I was using(fasting, sauna, liver cleanse etc.) something called costochondritis(swelling of the soft tissue between the lower ribs). At the six week mark of my
Iodine supplementation the swelling start to go down and now at ten weeks I have been free of this problem for almost a month. My finger are crossed that it is gone for good.
The cause of fibromyalgia is thought by some alternative health care practioners, to be toxic overload of the bodies detoxification pathways. These pathways get overloaded and cannot keep up because of the huge number of toxic chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis. We are taking in more toxins than can be eliminated so the body has to find some place to store them. There is more and more information coming available about how plastics alone can be linked to many of the chronic problems becoming epidemic. I have never come across any research connecting fibromyalgia and
Iodine deficiency but that doesn't mean there isn't a connection. The pain and aggravation of your symptoms probably have some connection to detoxification being facilitated by the iodine.
