I grew in pots last year and fertilized with Alaska Fish Fertilizer, which they now sell at Bi-Mart.
In the summer it got so hot that I was having to water twice a day so I framed a scrap of plywood with 2x4 and laid a sheet of plastic inside it so that I could put 2 inches of water and leave the pots in it all day and this worked like a charm.
This year I'm thinking about using full sheets of plywood and maybe even putting several together so that they can all get watered from one point. I put mine waste hight so that it's easy to work on the plants. The trick is keeping it level so that all the plants get the same amount of water If I really get fancy I may hook up a 3 dollar swamp cooler float to automatically shut it off.
