Cat healing from severe allergy with iodine!

IODINE FORUM and time pressed please start from second part, below word HERE

My cat adopted me about 1 1/2 year ago. He was abandoned. About 7 y/o. Adorable!!
Last year when spring came he started to scratch a lot, applied Frontline. He almost died!!! He stopped eating and moving altogether for 4 days, after which I started to gently "force-feed" him and learning more about holistic care, diet... At that time we really bonded and he came out very well. A time after that I noticed he started losing hair along the spine, head... I freaked out, took him to a vet who - to make it short - was horrible, gave me an antibiotic and said to wait a month to see if he gets better. Days passed, one week, more... my cat was not better at all. And he would scratch like crazy, pull his hair and had red spots. I was so upset.  Took him to another vet who told me it was an allergy from flea bites. He injected him an anti-allergenic (?) and wanted to apply another poison for the fleas to which I refused so traumatic the Frontline experience had been. On the other hand I knew he needed to get rid of the fleas by all means. The indoor environment was well taken care of in that respect. I was giving him brewers yeast, garlic, but it didn't do much.  That injection didn't help much. Three days later he was again scratching all the time, with his little red spots bleeding. How helpless I felt!!! I took him to another vet, who tested him for FeLV - positive!!
And she couldn't do anything for his allergy... it would affect his immune system.  I was supposed to start him on a drug for his immune system, which I haven't, but thought I might use it... Anything for The Cat.  Again I refused putting flea poison on him. How could I?
The problem became urgent and unbearable, I was trying homeopathy (only something readily available I must say), It wasn't actually of much help. Eventually I bought a poison! It has "bio" in its name - I swear, I resorted to that, in my torn torn mind...! I applied it on him, not the whole thing... the smell of that was the most horrible I ever smelled in my life, and I definitely don't want to smell it ever again!!!! It made me cry, when The Cat suddenly smelled it, and was in shock, paralyzed with that disappointed stare at me, like I can't beliewve you did that to me! I cried, What a torture for him!!!!! That smell, and that it was a poison! i felt the most cruel... But for  a while it all stopped, the scratching, and all about it. He didn't have a reaction immediately. But he had the same symptoms as with Frontline, only much later. I proceeded just like before and he healed in less time. But after a couple of months the allergy started to come back, but by then I was managing his fleas quite well because he had been all cleared up, and soon the cold weather came, fleas remained dormant.

HERE

One of these days I suddenly see Tomas had lost his hair along the lower spine and had little red spts/wounds. And he was scratching a lot. The killer flea bite allergy again!! Tomas is very much outdoor, although he sleeps most nights with me and likes to spend time indoors too, he is very sociable and spends time with people in the neighborhood he has known all his life.
I was starting with Lugol's and decided to put a drop in his water. Boy, he liked it!! I was reading about selenium and for some reasons, mostly vague, I decided to paint him with a solution of water, selenium and lugol's. If anything else, the way he received that treatment was the most rewarding to me, he couldn't get enough of my rubbing that stuff on him, he leaked the brush all the time, he purred. I started giving him more iodine - in a syringe, very diluted. And now I only paint him with diluted lugol's , he still lets me, he still purrs, and give him occasionally a small quantity of selenium and water, and sometimes I put salt in his water (no lugol's, sometimes lugol's - his favorite! and sometimes just water. He barely scratches, his whole skin is healing, his hair regrowing, very few "spots", which are healing, I am SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!! I'm still observing. Now I'm going to get diatomaceous earth for the fleas. I've been combing and haven't seen any, but...
I'll keep posting results!
