If on the plastic bottle it has an expiration date ...The Lugol(5%-strong Iodine solution) I got has an expiration date of June 2011...
Also what is their percentage ? 2 or 3% seems to be the norm..If no date and no percentage indicated time to discard it and get it from a more reliable supplier-cheaper is not always better..
Note-as Iodine is becoming more in demands all kinds of hucksters will take advantage of this.The FDA I believe recommends a maximum of a 2% solution which is pretty useless..
Bottom line,if you are in the US get it from a reliable source.In Canada you can get the strong 5% solution from your local pharmacist.( 100mL or 3.5 oz for about $12 or so Candian $$$ or $10 US).This by special order-they never keep it in stock..I think it is a governmental regulation..You get it within 24 hrs or so.
