What interested me most was the tie in with Leptin's paper which was lost in the crash... if I can find it, I may post it again next week.
Leptin essentially said that proteins control the active or dormant state of gene expression... we all have what we need inside for perfect health and longevity, it is a matter of turning on the switches. This paper by Olree, takes it a step further to state that minerals are essential to the formation of the "right" proteins to act with specific DNA\RNA strands.
If true, as I have thought for a long time, minerals, ALL MINERALS rule... vitamins, probiotics, etc. for the most part are superfluous to the perfectly healthy, mineral balanced body and may only be needed in cases where mineral deficiencies prevent the bodies own manufacture or support of them.
BTW, I thought that too...
