Re: Ignoring swallowing reflex

Hi,

I have a lot of trouble with not swallowing coconut oil specifically. I enjoy eating it and have taken it by itself so perhaps that is a factor -- I just enjoy eating it and my digestive system seems to say "eat me" the minute I taste the coconut oil! (This urge is a very powerful one and it's why we can't chew up a mouthful of Oreos, for instance, and spit them out when are dieting, etc.)

Have you tried a different oil? I have not had the same problem with other oils (I can't just put coconut in my mouth and let it melt because it is so hard not to swallow it, so I never end up pulling with coconut in part because I don't have time to melt it).

Many others have experienced terrific dental benefits from other oils. You might try sesame or sunflower -- the originally recommended oils for the protocol. If another oil doesn't induce the same swallow reflex, maybe you could "practice" with it and then work the coconut back into your regime. Any oil with oregano mixed in is going to be pretty powerful.

Good luck and happy pulling,

Laura
