Re: OP and fast

Serafina,

When you OP, the oil signals to your digestive system that "fats are on the way" -- regardless of whether you swallow. Some people have reported expelling stones with OP, and others have likened OP to a mini-liver flush. So, yes, OP does stiumlate the digestive system.

The purpose of a fast is to "turn off" the digestive system so deep cleaning can occur (in my opinion and experience).

While there may be a question of willpower here -- i.e., can OP create hunger in a person who is fasting -- the real question is whether OP challenges the fundamental point of fasting, which is that shutting down of the active digestive system. I think a committed faster could withstand some OP-induced hunger pangs, and from your past posts I know that you are one who is committed to all of this stuff -- but it sounds like the issue for you is whether OP gets in the way of a fast's productivity.

I think it does, and I would not OP, despite my near addiction to it, while doing a sustained fast.

Good luck and happy pulling (or fasting...whichever you choose!) --

Laura
