Re: Iodine Painting and skin reactions
water01, you have a pretty good understanding of the situation with my foot as posted (and now lost) during the past month. I'll try to answer some of your points in order.
#1, the "problem" had been on a mostly even/consistent pattern for nearly 30 years. (dating from the original 2nd/3rd degree sunburn followed up by poison ivy on top of the blistering, oozing, sunburnt foot). Last spring the problem came back like it had for some 30 years, but this time did not go away. Maybe it was/is eczema, dermatitis or any other nice-souding orthodox name. It did not go away they way it always had, but seemed to behave itself for several months, taking me into the Thanksgiving period 06. Then I started trying various things, and some of these seemed to upset the condition in various ways, one of the more significant was it slowly began to spread from the foot (where it had been contained for many months) to a new small patch on the ankle. Long about February/March, the
Iodine Support forum came into being. I followed it, interested in learning/studying the info and iterature and research. Even though I wanted to start an internal protocol, I was reluctant to only because I already had this existing "it" going on with the foot. Eventually, I did start a very conservative internal
Iodine routine, starting with 1/2 drop twice a day in a glass of water with ACV added. By the end of the third week I'd progressed to 1 drop twice a day, and there had not seen to be any change to the "it" on the foot. Then I started a conservative external routine, not painting, just soaking the foot in a bucket of hot water with some
Iodine added. Right away (within 12 hours of the first soak) the skin on top of the foot began to show signs of cracking, drying, peeling, flaking.....shedding...but it was still itching. Then I made the mistake of reverting to the herbal salve for itch relieve. This seemed to stop the drying/cracking/peeling/shedding process. Wombat advised that some of the herbs in the salve may have been contraindicated (promoting rapid skin healing at a time when this was still not called for). So I backed off the salve and stepped up the external treatement by painting, and before long I got way carried away with the painting.....and then the foot/ankle go really perturbed with this.....I then stopped all external & internal iodine, then followed a 10-day recovery process. Yes, there are a lot of great people contributing support to this support forum :)
#2) althought my hunch is that the original injury from 30 years ago still plays a part in the recent phenom, I cannot say what, exactly.
#3) recently I came onto information about Leaky Gut. Some of this comes by way of Cayce. Some of it also comes by way of MH. I believe one of the problems that Leaky Gut leads to (unsually big food particles leaking into the blood) is that it taints/poisons the blood in some way. Overall, the numerous skin problems I've experienced goes back many years, long before there ever was an "it" manifesting on my foot. I suspect that my vulnerability to poison ivy, which goes back to the earliest years of my life, is an indicator of this. I also suspect there is a genetic predisposition involved. For instance, dad has also always had his own variety of numerous, isolated skin irritations, including Poison Ivy, various forms of dermatitis, and severe allergy to bee sting. According to
Hulda Clark as well as others, most things people have grown to know as "allergy" point to a problem of some sort with the Liver. A liver malfunctin could of course also indicate a "blood problem" as a result of the liver problem.....complex topic, hard to say for sure.
#4) because this past week included a road trip planned for several weeks, it was not a good week for getting back on health schedule. Next week I intend to do another short fast, plus get back onto an internal Iodine regimen. The short term plan is to do 2 Liver Flushes, and after the second I want to seque into an extended fast, during which I intend to live on water, a few herbs/supplements, and Slippery Elm...... and go from there.
