Re: FDA, don't let them win
It has been suggested that control will be established by disallowing SHIPMENTS of herbals, etc...for whatever seemingly 'logical' reasons...quality, efficacy, standardized 'organic' (which means that the grower MUST have added certain substances to the growing soil), and so on.
A young fellow was taking his pre-med. I suggested to him that sea salt was a good thing. As gentle and loving a person as he is, he instantly retorted that "sodium is sodium!" No matter that 81 or more other minerals come with sea salt. In my opinion, he had been brain-washed.
To my mind, it will take the doctors themselves marching in the streets to overcome these new rules. That is not likely to happen, as we might guess...at least, not for a while.
The 'supplements' industry can be silenced by pointing out that they, too, are looking for 'profits', and need to be 'standardized'.
It's the same old 'divide and conquer' tactic we have seen before.
Folks who provide the best they know, and who care for every single person they come in contact with, customer or not, are at a distinct disadvantage.
I can see two ways the public can get what they really want...
...Become so experienced at self-care that we know how to be well, ourselves, and,
...Grow our own.
Nothing stops 'business people' faster and more thoroughly than loss of anticipated sales.
And, why would anyone 'advertise', at great expense, when no one is listening...and buying?
Besides, who will have the guts to stand up and say that so and so's dandelions are no good, and inferior to XYZ pills? Such a company's spokesperson would be laughed off the stage.
Especially around aboriginal mothers who have been giving their families some dandelion with their food for a week every spring for uncountable generations.
No, it is you and me, folks...as small as we think we are. It is what we 'buy' and 'swallow', in every sense, and who we trust, that will determine the future.
Definitely write letters, now. But do it individually, stating simply our preferences...courteously.
Did you know that institutions count our letters as worth at least eight people who didn't write?
Fist-waving gets us little attention, in my opinion.
It is, in the end, the dollar in your pocket and mine that 'business' wants.
If we refuse to buy what is offered, watch how fast we will be offered what we WILL buy.
It is cash flow, folks. 'Business' needs it...can't do without it.
Grandma and grandpa were right...The CUSTOMER is always right.
Fool me once, more fool me. Fool me twice, more fool you.
