Can you please help me to understand the damage done when I went on the Akins diet for a year? I did lose alot of weight but I ended up with MS right after I stopped (started worrying about all that fat) and went on an vegetarian diet. Don't misunderstand, I'm not blaming the MS on the vegetarian diet, I just know something changed in my body and I'm trying to understand what it was. Apparently I was able to burn fats without the alkaline minerals but what I want to know is what happened after the fats did not burn properly? Does it leave acid waste? Did my body go overboard trying to protect itself from all that acid waste that was trying to be eliminated with the vegetarian diet, that I ended up with MS? This mystery has bothered me for years now. 48124
