Re: oil pulling triggers eczema
RTH --
It sounds to me like your body is in major detox and whatever used to just cause the head eczema is now finding it necessary to take a new route out.
I would try not to blame the oil pulling per se. It's just an agent. It is not doing anything to cause the eczema. Maybe stopping it would stop the eczema, but you would not get rid of the root cause.
About two weeks in to the OP process I had a really miserable, painful, horrible and HUGE sore in my mouth. Same kind of thing -- I was pretty freaked out by it and also on a more practical level, it made my life absolutely miserable. It lasted for 8 or 10 days and was gone, and after reading about it and seeing the doctor etc. I concluded that it had been a viral thing, probably a dormant herpes infection, that was brought up and out by the OP process.
It was not fun and I did not feel like it would ever end, but it did and I believe it probably won't come back. But I definitely felt scared -- almost angry that OP had caused it. (It certainly made me realize how I do have a lingering lurking doubt that all of this stuff "works" -- on a subconscious level.)
Anyway. My guess is this is the same thing for you. That it is not the signal of some permanent expansion of the eczema but a healing-related episode, a darkest before the dawn thing.
Just an opinion, but I would give it a couple of more weeks and see what happens. I know that is easy for me to say, but based on what I read when I was going through that similar thing, I don't think OP'ing extended it.
And I'd take a lot of EFA's and probiotics -- flax oil, ACV etc. -- inside and out.
Good luck. This will get better!
