I've been using OCM (Oil Cleansing Method) to clean my face for a couple years. Usually people use a mix of olive oil and castor oil, with more or less of each depending how dry/oily your skin is. Massage it into your face and drape a warm, wet washcloth over it for several minutes to steam the pores open, then wipe it off gently.
This is a bit oversimplified (but there isn't really much more to it)--anyone who's interested can Google the proper directions. As with oil pulling, it's best to just experiment to find the right mix of oils for your skin. My success and happiness with OCM is probably what convinced me to try oil pulling without a moment's hesitation as soon as I found out about it.
