bless your "enemies"

I never understood what these words meant--because when I thought about it, it seemed so abstract, so "heady". So over the top. First of all, I couldn't imagine anyone I'd consider an enemy. (though I've been willfully hurt before, a time or two, as most of us might well have been. Then too, we've perhaps -no, certainly- hurt others, at some time. Even if that 'time' is lost to memory, it exists in the eternal now of the "akashic" record.)

But I was reflecting on a post I made a day or so ago, asking if anyone has the whole film "terrorstorm" in its entirety.(free, online.)I'd heard it would be very disheartening to people, and that offering blessings would be very helpful to counteracting the feelings aroused, and I wanted to see the film. The response to that post, (especially the question: what can one *do* that's positive, with the information in that film and other such information?) got me thinking.

"Enemies" ( without a face to put to that image) could be considered to be those who would (for example) use the world and its resources only for their own acquisitive ends, without regard to the "collateral" damage. Without regard to the truth that we are all moving toward perfection, and to cause harm to any one, is to cause harm to oneself as well--since it leads oneself and others away from "home".

so, okay. If we are lucky enough to envision enemies this way (and not as those who've literally bombed us, or tortured family members while we watched...) then there IS something we can do, that's much more accessible to us than it would be to those who've suffered viscerally, at the hands of their 'enemies'--and may well be very caught there still, in that reverberation of shock and grief.

We can "bless them". No, really. That sounds like a tall order doesn't it? But it's the least we can do really. We have to! Noblesse Oblige, as it's put: or, the more one 'has', the more responsible one is to give...it is the divine natural law, the knowledge of which ought to bring comfort that is beyond the sedations of this 'plane'.

In this way, even if we have little in the way of money or property, or even the best of health, whatever the world calls 'success', we might still be very blessed to be simply *able* to envision the truth ( to trust that) that we are all moving toward Liberation from delusion (and polarized views of any TRUE us and them), away from the loneliness of seeking, etc. etc. however slow that movement might appear to be.

There are lots of ways to bless others--lots of practises of offering healing light, or calling upon a higher source of light to surround and bathe others in peace and the knowing of *present* love...but maybe what helps the most in simply opening the door in the heart-mind to *imagining* such a possibility, is to consider that these "enemies" really do need this blessing. That they do not know it, doesn't discount the fact. This is why all the teachings of love and wisdom tell us, "don't be fooled by appearances." They also say, love is greater than fear--and fear's unloving acts: called hate.)


Maybe it helps to remember also, as has sometimes been said, "the truth needs no defense". It simply is. Nothing remains hidden. Sooner or later, the truth is, those who willfully bring harm to others, will themselves suffer greatly.
Terribly.  Before finding peace. But this shouldn't bring us any comfort -in fact we are called to look far beyond this endless stream of revenge upon revenge. To stop the endless stream of suffering. The more we bless others with the light of Love and truth beyond all separation, the better it will be for us All.

simple, no?

and as soon as we even glimpse being able to give, or offer blessing, we have ourselves been twice blessed.
