Re: Question For "Keep Flushin"
Hey --
I have a friend who is a nurse and a Buddhist. The nurse part of her tells her that things like cleansing and alternative nutrition is hogwash. The Buddhist part of her tells her that eating meat is bad. As a result, she is overweight from eating carbs, quite grumpy a lot of the time (my theory, of course, that she needs meat-only nutrients and that her body is so sugar-loaded that her serotonin levels are low).
I love the stuff about dog food. A few years back on a rainy afternoon with not much else to do (this was before the dawn of time, pre-computers, when I could not while away a lazy afternoon on Curezone...!), I bought several types of dog food at the Safeway and spent the next few hours trying each of them to see what the experience was like for my dog. Let me tell you, it was horrible and I started cooking for her at once! I eventually found some OK prepared dog foods (and got more of a life for myself so I didn't have as much time to cook for her). But one of the things I am not too proud of is that my dog was diagnosed with diabetes, which I am sure comes from eating carb-laden kibbles.
She has never liked completely raw. (Probably because she never sees me eating it! Another reason to go raw... .) When I tried to do a raw diet there would be all of these pieces of raw chicken around the house and yard (I tried to do this when we had a peak canine level of four dogs so that was a lotta chicken thighs.)
I fantasize about feeding all of us (kids, grown-ups, dogs, cat) the same thing. When I have time and money, the eternal limitors, I am going to try.
Have a great day!
Laura
