Hooray for Oil Pulling & CureZone!
So, I am trying to slowly work on my body such that it is not so susceptible to UTIs. Two days ago I had to deal with UTI #7 (these have all been in the last 2.5 years). I have learned a few things along the way:
1. For some reason, cranberry is ineffective for me.
2. Don't guzzle down tons of plain water without also keeping electrolytes up (I finally learned about Water Poisoning somewhere here on CureZone - I had to go to the emergency room once because I guzzled so much water I had diarrhea & was vomiting). I didn't realize it was the water, not the UTI, but it makes sense - I felt better as soon as they hooked me up to a bag of saline.
2.5 For some reason, a steady supply of lemon juice + water is far more effective than anything else I've tried yet.
3. Pull oil!
UTIs #2 - 6 were all accompanied by foggy-headedness, fever, and unnatural feelings of anxiety. UTI #7 was quite "normal" - the only symptom was urination pain. You have no idea how much better that is than the usual! I suspect that the past couple months of oil pulling prevented whatever it is that causes the foggy-headedness, fever, & anxiety. I kept my body hydrated with lemon juice + water, and it was gone by nighttime!
I pulled oil 5 times that day (alternating coconut & sesame), and applied some topically for good measure.
Whew. That was the easiest UTI to deal with yet.
My longer-term plan: 1. cleanse colon with p&b shakes (this is hard for me, as I have a difficult time taking the psyllium as often as it needs to be taken; I really need to do it, though, as I don't have bowel movements nearly as often as I ought to, so I suspect mucoid plaque or something somewhere in there. I can't imagine there's a ton, since I am of quite a normal weight. Could there be anything else causing my sluggish excretory system?). 2. Salt water flush. 3. Um, I haven't thought that far ahead, but I suppose a kidney flush somewhere around here is in order.
