In fact my wife is pretty much a starchetarian herself, and the meals she makes tend to be heavy in the bread/pasta/cheese areas. I'm trying to substitute protein shakes for meals at least a few times a week to make up for it, but I've definitely found my diet overall shifting from heavy protein to heavy starches. Not exactly what I had in mind.
Since there aren't many good options for vegetarian food in restaurants nearby and neither of us have much time for food prep I think it's just something we've fallen into. I'll look into the supplement you mention. Right now I'm doing lots of Spirulina supplementation for protein.
