Re: Weight gain possible on WD?

Jova,

I agree for the most part...there are better alternatives to coffee. I think it has to do with coffee being a mainstream part of American life and Ori didn't want to sound like he was disallowing it. The only reason I drink it on the weekends is that it makes me feel full when I'm more active. And there is the social aspect too. I limit myself to 2 cups a day on the weekend because drinking more gives me headaches from withdrawal on Mondays. Some alternatives: Roibos tea, White tea, Oolong tea (there is a lot of caffeine in that); but if you don't want caffeine try peppermint or ginseng tea. I understand that caffeine releases more fatty acids as fuel in the bloodstream, but chocolate is infinitely better. Chocolate (Dark chocolate please, not the other imitations)in its natural state contains no caffeine, but Theobromine, which is a stimulant also. Check out this link if you're interested:

. Of course I can't have it during the day unless I eat the unsweetened variety, which takes some getting used to.
To summarize the answer to your question, the ideal is to avoid stimulants during the undereating phase if at all possible.
